Some Motivation

A video we watched as a team during our second Meeting:

Day Two of Team Bonding

Bryan Pray takes a picture in front of Vince Lombardi’s Statu

Second full day in Green Bay, today the staff was trying to implement character values and what they mean as well as how to handle certain personalities. That whole session was impressive, I got to understand my personality and the why’s and why not’s. All the guys seem real cool, this team reminds me a lot of the team I was on in West Michigan two years ago, these guys are here to have fun and win football games. Me and a few teammates went grocery shopping today, on the way back we stopped at Lambeau Field and took pics by Lombardi’s statue. It was kinda cool and inspiring. I was here last year and didnt really take time to experience the tradition of football here in Green Bay. You had that feeling that Lombardi was staring at you. I made the remark to my teammates that “He see’s talent” in reference to the statue seeming like it was looking at you. With the Packers across the street from us, you kind of have that added motivation to play at a high level and try to “Get across the street”

We got to see our offensive philosophy and goals this season. We also installed our formations and route tree. Tomorrow I go get my physical, Two more days of team bonding before starting the 2012 training camp.

First day of Meeting’s Down

Checked in to Green Bay and got settled in. Yesterday Morning I got to meet my teammates and our coaches. A real cool group got to finally see everyone in person after developing social media relationships with them over the past few months. We had a few introductory meetings and got to hear Chris Greisen talk. Very very good day of knowledge and lessons learned. After spending a day with the staff I can see what type of team they are trying to build and I feel its gonna be a very exciting year. Being engaged now and being away from sweetie coach Fuller, being married and away from his wife dropped some good knowledge on how to keep the communication open, just make time its that simple, I gained more respect from that because when I was in La Crosse last year the GM was telling us to block them out for 5 months and focus on football smh crazy. What I got from Greisen was to control only what you can control, which is effort and attitude because it will impact your life and the opportunities you can get with controlling those two aspects. Lastly coach Baldwin our defensive coordinator gave a great presentation as well and what I got from that is to respectfully take advantage of your opportunities but humble yourself, of course you hear that everywhere you go but he broke it down and explained what that actually means.

It usually starts at the top and hear in Green Bay we have a great group leading us and that will trickle down to our players. More meetings and physicals coming up this week but I sure cant wait until Sunday when this season will officially kick off for us with the first day of training camp.

2days thought

Instinctively knowing when to run forward, when to ease back, and know when to let someone else take over. These are the marks of a great team and great team player.”

2012 Season Goals

” A person can grow only as much as his horizon allows”

~~ John Powell ~~

THAT QUOTE TO ME SAYS THINK BIG!

Don’t let anyone pass off your personal goals as being selfish, I can’t stand that just because aspire to be better player individually does not make you selfish. Of course the overall TEAM goal is to make a team and help that team in any kind of way win a championship. But during that journey sets some goals to help push you.

I’ve played two seasons in this league and have a sense of what I want to accomplish personally. You can’t really control how many opportunities you get but you can make the most of every opportunity, My goals for the 2012 season:

  • Team Captain
  • 1,000-1,200 yards receiving
  • 50-70 receptions
  • 15-20 touchdown receptions
  • All Conference First or second team

All pretty tough tough goals but attainable through persistence and hard work.
